Mariah's Austin Adventure

Mariah Crawford,
Psychic Medium and Spiritual Counselor

My trip to Austin, Texas was magical and wonderful in every way, beginning with that lovely evening with extended family, and followed up with meetings, dinners and walks with friends of friends. Austin, especially for its huge size (about 700,000 people) is warm, friendly and welcoming. I can see why Spirit has lead me to explore Austin for the last three years! People say that Austin is a "happening" place, and a "vortex of goodness," and I feel they're right!

The Universe truly was conspiring to help me succeed in seeing that Austin would be a good move for me. People everywhere were kind and helpful, and bent over backwards to assist in all kinds of thoughtful ways. I connected with many wonderful people all over the Austin area, including the local Spiritualist Church, and people were regularly asking for my business cards, even when I was out in the "boonies" hiking and enjoying the magnificent beauty of Hamilton Pool, West Cave Preserve, the Pedernales River and the Milton Reimers Ranch Park, outside the little town of Dripping Springs. Milton Reimers Ranch Park is unlike any place I've seen. It's almost primeval, with caves, a deep, rich forest with streams, waterfalls and incredible rock formations and rock slides, almost like a rain forest. Rock climbers were everywhere, scaling walls inside the forest. I told them about our world-famous Smith Rocks! The walls at the Texas park were a fraction of the height of Smith Rock. Outside the inner forest are hillsides of wild flowers, with the beautiful Pedernales River running by. Pedernales means flint or firestones in Spanish. The Spanish found the flint in and along the river. People fish and swim in it, and it's warm, clear and lovely. I dangled my feet in it for a while before exploring more of the area. I really did feel the heat and humidity. I'm not used to it anymore, and will need some time to acclimate. Folks at the park were from all over, and again, were friendly and communicative in general, asked me what I did, where I was from, helped me climb up rocky areas that were difficult, helped me when I occasionally got lost, too. I have a terrible sense of direction, and tend to get lost easily, but that wasn't what happened in the Austin area! I got around very well, much to my surprise. Spirit guidance! My angels worked overtime!

I researched a number of areas, and loved South Lamar. I drove around it a couple of times, feeling it out, and looking at the homes. Very quiet, beautiful trees, gardens, even when so close to the "main drag." While I was driving down one of the streets, I was guided to call to a woman who was walking in the neighborhood. She, like just about everyone else, was warm and friendly. I asked her if she liked the area, and not only did she love it, but owns a house there, and has rental homes in the area! She said South Lamar is full of artists and musicians - right up my alley. We talked about thirty minutes, she asked for my card, and gave me her email so I could touch in whenever I was ready to look at her rental homes. A serendipitous connection, like so many that happened on this trip!

In a nutshell, I feel that my Austin Adventure made it very clear that I could be happy, prosperous and abundant in so many ways/shapes/forms. And, I loved Tex-Mex, to boot! I plan to keep my Sanctuary (and home), The Spirit Rising Sanctuary of Light (SRSL), and lease space to professionals in the health/healing field - yoga instructors, bodyworkers, counselors, acupuncturists, etc. My neighborhood is zoned residential-commercial. When all is right, and everything unfolds properly, I will establish another SRSL Center in Austin. I do not know, at present, how all is going to come together, or when, but Spirit brought me this far, and will uphold me, guide me and take me to the next point on the map, as they've always done. Our Guides will do this for all of us, when we allow them to!

I feel blessed to have a lovely home and Center, and so many friends here in Central Oregon, and will always keep the bond of love and connection here. I've been here since 1994! I plan to make my second home in Austin, returning to Central Oregon regularly, perhaps quarterly. When all comes together as it needs to, I may become a "snowbird," living in Redmond during the Summer and Autumn, and Austin during Spring and Summer. I am in the hands of Spirit, and wait with delight to watch what will unfold!

The Time of Honeysuckle and Roses©

Channeled by Mariah Crawford from her Literary Angel Band

Ahh ~ the time of honeysuckle and roses ~
Sweetness of the air and refreshment of the heart.
A time to renew one’s Self and leave behind the sorrows of the past.
A time to allow the sweet scent of God to impose itself
Upon the scent of sorrow and to recompose one’s Self
To the precious time of this moment ~ of scent, sound, and sight ~

The Summer wind singing in the trees and playing with the wind chimes,
Golden Light pouring down from the heavens,
Eyes nearly blinded by the brightness and glory of the Great Ones,
The Golden Ones who make life bearable, bright and beautiful,
So that we may carry on and live again
With each new death within us and about us,
Being born again and again, each moment, each hour, each day.

Sorrow passes, the sun comes out again,
June brings her wonders,
December looms on the horizon ~
But with the perfect and delicious memory of June,
One bears the unbearable.
No one need linger in the Land of Sorrow,
When the Land of Light and Glory is always enveloping our hearts.

Grief passes, Mistress Mint grows tall and stately in her emerald green garments,
The perennials showing us that Life is everlasting.
The sweet lament of the mourning dove brings a pang and a tenderness to the heart.
The nectar of the grape, the sun, the good, rich earth bring a different sort of awakening ~ an appreciation of the senses of Earth,
Which enable one to remember the senses of the Spirit.

How sweet it is on a Summer’s eve,
To remember the gentle, passionate moments of one’s Life,
And rejoice for having lived, for having explored, discovered, taken chances,
For having been alive to the moment, with no thought for tomorrow.

Tomorrow will come,
And with it the changes that are constantly inherent in Earthly life.
But one must remember, amidst the chaos and apparent dementia of these times,
That the honeysuckle and the rose shall always bloom,
Bringing their color, scent and glory to embrace our souls
So that we may say to ourselves, “This day is good.
How great Thou art, how great Thou art, Beloved One.”

Mariah's Journey to Austin, TX

Hello, Spiritual Sisters & Brothers!

I've been talking about checking out the Austin, TX area for 3 years now, and am finally here. I love it! I am now planning to expand my Center, Spirit Rising Sanctuary of Light, and add another Center in Austin. I shall keep my Center and home in Redmond, and go back and forth, serving both communities. I will offer phone (including Skype)in both locations, as well as in-person consults, and regular Spirit Speaks Seminars, workshops and classes in spiritual development and unfoldment.

Spirit has been guiding me for some time to really live the truth of my spirit's limitlessness, eternal expansiveness and growth, and I'm finally ready to take Earthly steps to do just that! Change is not comfortable or easy, but so worthwhile, for we never know what wonders and goodness await us 'round the bend! We came here to manifest the glory and power of Spirit and our spirit selves, but it takes a while to get the "hang" of actually manifesting that. I encourage you, too, to determine where you are in your Life's Journey, if it feels right and good, where you might want to go, and what you're ready to do with this precious time you have on Earth.

I'm off to explore a bit more, check in with the Chamber of Commerce, and connect with the local Spiritualist Church this Sunday. On Saturday, I plan to visit Enchanted Rock, which I've heard is a must while here. Just driving and walking around the area is a delight. People, for the most part, are warm and friendly and very eager to help. It's a beautiful area, hot and moist, birds singing everywhere, parks galore, lots of excellent food, especially Tex-Mex.

I return home late Monday night, and will be ready. I'm a bit homesick, but that's natural. I know there may be many homes here on Earth for us, but ultimately, we will return Home to the Realms of Light. That knowledge helps me keep my perspective and my clarity, and also knowing that our homes here are our temporary and beautiful havens. I am blessed to be able to create two homes/havens! Thank you for your loving support of my spiritual expression of limitlessness. Please touch in when you can. I'll keep adding to my blog. My new Notebook Computer has had many problems, and I can't send emails from it, but can receive, and my dear friend and assistant, Rachel Winkler (541.408.0058) will also transmit your calls and emails to me. I'll be changing servers and will have another new email in the not-too-distant future. I'll be taking appointments again on June 18th. Take good care, and may Spirit guide you perfectly as you place your feet upon the Earth each new day. Until we meet again,

Love, hugs and lost of sunshine from Austin!

Suffering: the soil of your Life's Garden

Suffering is a part of human life, a part of our spiritual growth, and comes in many forms. You may feel it is your destiny or fate to suffer, and that you have little control over it, but this is not the truth. You have the greatest Power of the Universe within you, within every atom, molecule and cell of you - the loving power of the God Spirit. Claim the power and love that resides within you and your eternal spirit. Right now, today, choose to use your free will to suffer less and live your life more fully in joy, by employing right thoughts, words and actions.

God does not bring suffering to you, but will provide the inner strength and clarity to overcome it, or help you bear it till you choose to see it differently - a lesson of Life - and move past it, or make peace with it. Suffering, and the overcoming of it, can be seen as the "soil" of your Life's Garden. You will enrich the "soil" at every opportunity, as you begin to realize your True Self. Use the ancient tools of meditation, prayer, self-inquiry and contemplation to become clear and mindful of your thoughts, choices and decision-making. As you awaken little by little, you will more carefully choose your Seeds of Life, and lovingly sow them. Then, watch as the conditions change in your life, and the Seeds take root, growing, in time, into the Perfect Flowers. Watch your Self and your life grow into beauty, slowly, but surely, just as the seeds you sow in Earthly soil. You have the power to grow and create with the Creator!

Continue with your spiritual work and evolution each day, striving to be the best human being possible. Focus upon God and the goodness all around you and within you. Be patient, tolerant, kind, merciful and loving to your Self and others. Ask the Great Gardener of the Universe to help you prepare the soil of your Inner Self, and fertilize, nurture and water the Seeds you sow. Tend your Life's Garden, pull the "weeds" regularly, and let Nature take her course!
